Meet Dr. Kriya Siewrattan, ND

After growing up in the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Kriya (pronounced cree-ya, meaning to take action or create) moved back to Ontario with her family to finish high school. She was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine under challenging circumstances when her father was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer shortly after their move. Part of his treatment included naturopathic integrative cancer care. After his passing, she needed to turn things around and began seeing a Naturopathic Doctor at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine’s teaching clinic. She experienced the benefits of a healthy diet and active lifestyle, as well as the therapeutic uses of botanicals, supplements and acupuncture.

Encouraged by her ND, she decided to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto. After graduating with distinction from the University of Toronto, Kriya attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. In her final year, she was accepted into a competitive residency program at the East Coast Naturopathic Clinic in Bedford, Nova Scotia under the supervision of Dr. Bryan Rade, ND. At this residency, Dr. Kriya gained valuable experience working with patients with chronic and complex conditions such as Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Lyme disease and co-infections, Mold Illness, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cancer, Autism & ADHD.

After her residency, Dr. Kriya practiced for three years in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia before moving back to Ontario to be closer to her family. Because of her extensive experience treating patients in Nova Scotia, maintains a virtual practice in Nova Scotia. She also sees patients in Alberta and Ontario.

In her current virtual practice, she sees a wide range of cases and maintains an interest in treating complex health concerns. Her approach to treatment involves addressing the root cause of your health concerns while supporting your current symptoms. She believes in balanced, accessible and individualized health care.

In her down time, Dr. Kriya enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor adventures such as paddle boarding, live music and stand up comedy.
